Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (privacy policy). The server is located in a data centre in Falkenstein, Germany, so the data stays in the EU. We have a data processing agreement with Hetzner under Art. 28 GDPR. When you visit, technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, requested page and browser type is briefly stored in log files. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Contact form
When you write to us through the contact form, your name, email address, company, topic and message are sent to our server at Hetzner (see above), which forwards them to our inbox by email. The server does not store the message. To stop the form from being abused, it keeps your IP address in memory for at most one hour to count requests.
Our email runs on Microsoft 365, provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (privacy statement). This also applies when you email us directly. We have a data processing agreement with Microsoft under Art. 28 GDPR. Microsoft stores our mailboxes in data centres in the EU. Access from the USA cannot be ruled out, for which Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
We use this data only to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and delete it once it is no longer needed and no legal retention periods apply.
